The FSB speed of the dual-core processor is 800 MHz. With an advanced smart cache memory of 64 KB L1 and an installed size of 4 MB, the Intel processor is built on a 65 nm manufacturing process. With a clock speed of 2.4 GHz, the Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 has two socket types that are Socket M and Socket P. Emails can be written whilst downloading music or videos, as well as running an anti-virus programme and otherapplication lications, all at the same time. Offering the user total flexibility, the Intel processor has dual cores or computing engines, which allows the customer to run a number of differentapplication lications and programmes simultaneously, meaning that tasks can be completed faster. Incorporating Intel Core’s revolutionary microarchitecture, the Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 dual-core processor gives the user an energy efficient, but powerful performance.
I run a small PC repair business and it has been my experience that COOLER IS BETTER (within reason) as far as PCs are concerned.Part of the Intel Core’s famous family of computer processors, this Intel processor uses the leading silicon process technology designed by Intel. I was most impressed by this temperature drop, especially considering that this CPU is clocked 33% higher than the Merom chip it replaced.
If memory serves me correctly, I saw over a 10 degree F drop in CPU temperature after the switch (noted by Speedfan as well as TPFC V.61). Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T8300 2.4GHz 3MB 800MHz Socket P. These Penryn core chips are supposed to run cooler than the Merom core chips and that was indeed the case with my laptop. Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 SLAPA SLAYQ 2.4 GHZ 3MB 800MHZ Socket P Processor.
IMHO, the Intel GMA X3100 graphics chip is nothing to write home about as far as raw performance is concerned so any help it receives is a PLUS.
Not only did this upgrade boost the WEI rating for the CPU, it also gave a modest increase in WEI 2D and 3D graphics ratings. Though NOT a huge change, I did notice a small change in the 'snappiness' of my laptop.
I bought this 'Penryn core' CPU to upgrade the T7100 'Merom core' CPU in my Lenovo T61 laptop with Intel integrated graphics running Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit).
